# Rate limits

> Handle throttled requests without assuming a universal request budget.

A rate-limited route can return HTTP `429`. Obey `Retry-After` when supplied.

The API can return `X-RateLimit-Limit`, `X-RateLimit-Remaining`, and `X-RateLimit-Reset` on rate-limited routes. Use the headers returned for the requested operation to handle throttling.

For mutations, check the original operation’s result before retrying a timed-out request. Repeated requests can create or trigger work again; see [versioning and idempotency](https://docs.gomobile.ma/developers/versioning.md).

See [Errors](https://docs.gomobile.ma/developers/errors.md) for the response format.
